Report: Dak Prescott to start against Browns in Week 9

Dak Prescott will make at least two more starts for the Dallas Cowboys.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Prescott will start Sunday night’s showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Cowboys’ Week 9 contest with the Cleveland Browns. Dallas will then have to make a decision between Prescott and Tony Romo, who returned to practice on Thursday.

A fourth-round rookie, Prescott has started the first six games for the Cowboys, who are 5-1 and one of the biggest surprises in the NFL. The first-year quarterback threw three touchdowns in a 30-16 win over the Green Bay Packers before the team’s bye week, giving him seven touchdowns and just one interception in 2016.

Romo is still working his way back after suffering a fracture in his back during the preseason. It appears the Cowboys will give him at least two more weeks to get back to 100 percent, so you can feel comfortable laying a wager on Dak Prescott in an NFL Sportsbook.

Who knows who will start for Dallas at quarterback in Week 10.

Romo is a 14-year veteran with a 97.1 career passer rating. But he missed 12 games to injury last year, and Prescott is clearly the future of the franchise at quarterback.

If the Cowboys are 7-1 after the next two weeks, it will be very difficult for head coach Jason Garrett to go back to Romo, even if he’s healthy and ready to play.
